Taught to practice Slavery from a young age

Hi fellow readers, this was just a thought that crossed my mind while I was watching Pokemon. Who doesn’t know about this show? A show targeting kids, a show that features a young spirit looking for its future. The idea itself is overwhelmingly great. It is the very definition of challenge and adventure. A kid who’s old enough to leave his home, leave the comforts of life, and go straight to the forest, straight to the unknown. As a kid, I’ve always enjoyed it.

But now, it feels different, the message that it sends is confusing. First, he gets a Pokemon that doesn’t want to get in the Pokeball. Then he uses that same Pokemon to “capture” other Pokemons against there will. And of course, when those other ones resist, Ash forces them into a battle. Just like slavery-built societies, this system used to be applied in war times.

It appears that in the old days, when a war occurs. Hostages get caught in the way, so either they’re killed or speared. Those who get the speared swear an oath of servitude of some kind or just get forced to work against their will serving the person who speared them.

A system that disappeared times ago got revived by a kid’s show. And it’s well copied and disguised under a seemingly innocent story-line. So Ash has an objective, he wants to catch them all, he calls himself a trainer. Imprisoning Pokemons in Pokeballs for the sake of using them in battles.

I don’t know if I’m right or wrong, it was just a thought that crossed my mind, thanks for reading.
