From floating mountains to urban street food,
or even rice terraces, Vietnam is going to be your number one location. Are you
looking for a paradise on this planet? Look no more, because Vietnam is the
answer.
Your number one destination must be Hanoi,
second biggest city in term of population and Vietnam’s Capital. Away from
costal area, Hanoi combines three of land areas: low, middle and mountains.
Famous by its amazing architectures, Tran Quoc Pagoda should your first visit
if you’re a fan of selfies, as one of the oldest pagodas, it offers great
combination between land and lakes.
Your next destination must be Hỏa Lò Prison,
built by the French colonists and later used by the Vietnam for US prisoners
during the Vietnam war, it represents a great deal of information about that
era. Even though it has been demolished during the 1990s, its main gatehouse is
still there used by locals as a museum.
Then, you should visit the temple of
literature, as its name suggests, it is a temple with a great green and nice
wooden architecture. But if course, you must go back to the city, go around the
streets and taste its famous recipes. There’s a reason why the Vietnam is
famous by its urban food, it’s because of its tastiness. Based on noodles and
vegetables, it comes with a reasonable price, but the value is way beyond.
Moving on, you would have to visit Vietnam’s
awesome beaches, known for their variety. They represent the diversity in both
structure, life style and geography. In the first place, Long Beach in Phu Quoc,
a long beach known for its sands, a small walk is suggested to start with, a
combination of sand, palms and water. It’s mostly famous by its resorts
offering a great deal of both comfort and entertainment.
But if you’re looking for something more
beautiful and cheaper, Star Beach must be on your list, although it isn’t as
famous as long beach, but it’s a calm place, a place to relax and take photos.
You can easily find starfishes in its transparent waters, caution is advised of
course.
The next destination on the radar is Ha Long
Bay, known for its green waters and its awesome mountains all over its lakes.
You can easily book a boat for 2 to 3 nights for about 130 US dollars. This is
going to be a cruise experience around the mountains offering great large views
for kayaking, boating and swimming. You can also get a night included on that
13 US dollar offer to sleep in a private bungalow, around the mountains.
For mountain seekers and trekking lovers, Sapa
is going to meet your expectation. This city is famous for its large trekking
fields, with a 3.143 meters peak, the trekking experience is to last 3 days in
a row, not to mention the nice views it overlooks. The rice terraces lying on
mountains are the best view in that trekking experience. With hundreds and
hundreds of years of experience in rice farming, farmers in Vietnam learned how
to bypass all sorts of terrain obstacles, they created terraces on their
mountains and gave it the look of stairs, a design that is meant to protect the
vegetation from Soil erosion.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park is the next
thing to see, a national park that offers a combination of tropical forests,
underground rivers and mountains. Protected by Vietnam order, this park is
mosly famous for its ancient limestone karsts, add to that an immense network
of caves. Caves that are huge enough for boats. In the other side, the wild
life in the park includes black bears, tigers and even elephants.
In the center of Vietnam, there’s a city called
Hue, famous by its strategic location and a demilitarized zone, it offers big time
to waste around its structures. As the ancient capital lasting from 1802 to
1945, it is a major attraction for tourists and visitors. Đại Nội Citadel,
built in the 19th-century and surrounded by moat and thick stone walls, it once
was the center of the imperial city. Also called the forbidden purple city, it
once was the house of the emperor himself.
Next must be The Royal Theatre in Hue's
Imperial City, an ancient theater that holds its value from its old
architecture, is open now to the public and offers 2 dance performances every
day. You can also hear their traditional music being sang, and watch performers
act and dance in their traditional masks and dresses.
Finally, the demilitarized zone. In the Vietnam
war, many military equipment was brought by each party, as to show off their
power. This area was the line of separation between the north and the south of
Vietnam. After the end of that war, this equipment was left there as to be
remembered after reunion between north and south.
