Facebook is down, along with Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Oculus VR ..

Just as Facebook was live on CNBC defending the company’s lines and its control of examen data suggesting Instagram is ill to teens, its network of services suddenly went offline.

On Twitter, Facebook messages executive Andy Stone says, “ We ’re sensible that some people are having trouble penetrating our apps and products. We ’re working to get paraphernalia back to normal as fast as possible, and we apologize for any irritant.”

A look at Down Sensor (or your Twitter feed) reveals the problems are far-reaching. While it’s unclear exactly why the platforms are unattainable for so multiplex people, their DNS records show that, like last week’s Slack outage, the problem is putatively DNS (it’s always DNS).

Cloudflare old vice presider Dane Knecht notes that Facebook’s border gateway protocol routes — BGP helps networks pick the trim path to deliver internet marketplace — have been “ withdrawn from the internet.”

Instagram.com is flashing a 5xx Waiter Error dispatch, while the Facebook point simply tells us that integer went wrong. The problem also appears to be affecting its virtual reality arm, Oculus.

Fiends can load games they before have installed and the cybernaut works, but social features or installing new games does not. The outage is thorough enough that it’s affecting Shop from Facebook guests and, according to Jane Manchun Wong, Facebook’s internal points.

There’s no word yet from Facebook about what may be causing the problem or when those points, including Messenger and WhatsApp, will be on again, but we will modernize this paper with farther information when it’s available.
